RSS is a powerful technology that can help you build traffic and deepen your relationship with your prospects, but few Internet marketers understand it. If you are not using RSS in your marketing arsenal, the best place to start is by becoming a consumer. Set up an account with a no-cost online service like Bloglines and subscribe to some feeds. It will open a new world for you.

I published this tip in the Daily Marketing Ace ezine last week and I wanted to share it again here. If you are an Internet marketer, you need to become very familiar with the vernacular of RSS and how it can help you in your business.
I use BlogLines as my RSS reader because it is an easy-to-use and free RSS reader. Plus it allows me to publish the feeds to which I subscribe as a blogroll. This way I don’t have to spend time maintaining a blogroll. I can always have an up-to-date list of links to the blogs I read.
I have not implemented it for this blog yet, but will soon. For the Daily Marketing Ace blogroll, I’ll only be linking to DMA contributors’ blogs. All I will need to do is set up a folder in BlogLines and subscribe to their feeds. Then I’ll just copy and paste a little bit of code into a text widget and publish it in the sidbar.
If you are new to RSS, I highly recommend that you start with a BlogLines account and add feeds from your favorite blog. You’ll find that it is easy to do that from this blog. Just click on the subscribe to posts link in the top right column and choose BlogLines as your reader.
