- Join groups, make friends, and interact
- Search for networks that are geared toward your niche
- Join social marketing groups like Go2Web20.net
- Remote blog. Join blogger.com and put content there
- Track progress diligently
- Don’t freak out or try to do everything at once

Also social marketing can take over you life. My Digg management can take over my whole day if I let it.
Managing conversations and posts can take over the rest of my time, but Jack Humphrey will agree on this that you have to establish yourself as an authority.
If this kind of time commitment is required in my early SMO (social marketing optimization) then so be it.
