Tap Into Podcasts for PR and Credibility

You’ve heard of Podcasting right?  Podcasting is nothing more than syndicating audio recordings using the iTunes and other Podcast channels.  Want to tap into this growing trend?  Search Google and iTunes.com for podcasts in your niche. Listen to a few shows, then contact the podcaster and offer to be a guest. Send them a press release, your ‘expert topic’ and sample interview questions.

Doug Hudiburg:  This is just one traffic generation tip from a brand new audio course I just recorded.  F-R-E-E evaluation copy for the first 5 commenters to this post!

I may not respond immediately because I am traveling today, but if you would like to get a review copy of the traffic strategies recording I mentioned in today’s tip, please comment below.

All I ask is that, if you get a review copy, please leave your feedback here as a comment as well.

I can only release 5 review copies, so they will go to the first 5 commenters.

    Thanks!

    Doug,

Being a Podcast guest - sounds like a great idea. You always point out things in your daily tips that I hadn’t thought of. Keep up the good work!

Doug, that’s a great idea, although why limit it to Podcasts? Take that well-crafted press release and send it to appropriate talk-radio shows. Just Google “Talk Radio Show” and a specific city, and start doing some research.

In the buzz and techno-fun of the Internet, it’s so easy to forget the “old fashioned” venues as well.

Coach Lynn, you’re right on the money! Whether online or offline, radio shows are hungry for content just like newspapers, magazines and even blog authors!

I don’t know of a content driven medium that would refuse the opportunity to provide quality content to their audience.

So if YOU become the source of that quality content (in the form of an energetic, informative, high value interview as just one example)… you have plain simply TOO MANY opportunities with this PR strategy alone.

Hey Doug … can I review a copy of your upcoming audio as well??
    ;-)

Thanks for your comments everyone. Final editing is being done on the audio file, so review copies will go out shortly.

Coach Lynn, great point, but I see Podcasts as particularly effective for this kind of approach. Why? Because they tend to be more ‘nichey.’ Podcasts tend to be a little more narrowly focused. For instance, a broadcast radio show might be centered around ‘investing’ but a podcast might be specifically oriented toward ‘forex trading’

You can get a very targeted (if much smaller) audience through podcasts.

Rob, I’m sorry, you can’t have a review copy until you finish editing the file!

I’ll be in touch with commenters (except Rob) just as soon as the file is ready.

    Thanks!

Doug, I’m not putting Podcasts down. Why not do both? If you’ve got great material, why limit yourself to one medium? You never know for sure where your next ideal client is coming from.

There’s a great big market out there of people (like me, I must confess) who aren’t especially techno-savvy. I may be your ideal customer, but if you do a Podcast, I won’t hear it. If you’ve got a video on Youtube, I won’t see it. You might catch me with your blog though. [OK, Doug, that’s one for you. ;-) ] But I will hear you on the radio, or read an article in the paper or a magazine or an e-zine.

I guess my point is that perhaps we shouldn’t limit ourselves to one medium or one style of marketing. Target your niche, yes, but do it different ways. Hmm. That sounds like a topic for MY blog!

@CoachLynn, No I didn’t think you were putting podcasts down and I definitely see your point. It pretty much depends on how much available time the marketer has. If time is not an issue, then cast the net wide. If time *is* and issue, then try to focus narrowly.

BTW. I’m excited for you to launch your blog. It’s going to be a great one!
